Happy First Day of Spring!

Happy Birthday to Me!

That's right folks. It's my birthday. The big 3-2.

Remember how I love Christmas and presents? Well, I love birthdays too. I don't love getting older so much, although this year doesn't feel quite as bad. I haven't lamented 32 as I did, say, 30. Or 26 or 27. For some reason I dreaded those ones. So it's 32 for me. Yippee.

Justin planned a little party for me the other night with my family and our friends the H's. (Amy) It was great - even though I was tired. The best parts, aside from being with the ones I love and the caramel apple pie Justin got from the Dutch bakery, were these gifts:

I bought the tablecloth last week at the Craft and Antique Fair as a gift to myself. I'd been drooling over it at the last two fairs.
The red placemats were a perfect match from Amy. And she didn't even know about the tablecloth. My mom brought the springy branches. Isn't it all adorable?

My mom, in her sneakiest sneaky way, bought me this cute shirt from Downeast.
I think I'll wear it for Easter with the perfect something that I'm going to find today.

Tonight we're headed down to Seattle to go to this restaurant. I'm not a huge sushi fan but it's just the novelty of it all. And they give you a free dinner on your birthday which is cool. We're meeting some good friends and maybe Justin's sisters. So Michelle, if you want to meet us.... 5:30, Todai, Redmond. ;-) Is it dorky to put winking faces in your blog? Oh well.

And just for fun... some pictures. Circa 32 years ago.

My mom and I. Her, 19. Me, 0.

Technically, my grandma and I.
She would have killed me if I hadn't cropped her out.
It was an awful picture of her.
And you know how often she reads my blog.

We lived on Capital Hill in Seattle when I was a baby.

My dear Grandpa and I.
He was my father, really.
And the best man I ever knew.
I looked at this picture this morning and was shocked at how much I think I look like Adia here.

One of the only pictures I have of my real father.
These picture captions are starting to sound like I have issues over all of this,
but I really don't. It's just kind of fun to look at once in a while.
Look what a beauty my mom is! I look like both of them I think.

People always say I look like my mom from the mouth down and my father from the nose up.

How great is it to have your birthday coincide with the first day of spring! It's too bad we couldn't come up with more spring-like weather for you, but we'll get there soon!

Thanks for the birthday sushi invite--that was for me, 2 Ls, right? :-) I've been a little under the weather, so I'm going to have to pass. I hope you have a great night!

Thanks for sharing your baby pictures! I love the photo of you laughing in the stroller. So adorable! I definitely see the mouth down/nose up combination of your mom and dad.

Happy Birthday, Cutzi!

Happy birthday Cutzeroo!

I am amazed at how much you a)look like your dad, and b)look like Adia. You really do look like your mom too. And super cute baby pictures. :)

Let's see what else...that shirt is totally you...your table is indeed adorable, especially the little creature behind the branches...and, I wish I was there to celebrate with you!

Have a great 32nd! Love you, friend!!

I have the perfect birthday card for you that I've forgotten to send the last two years. Which reminds me that I better call my niece. Her birthday is the same as yours and her card is also sitting in a drawer. *sigh*

I kept thinking too, that looks so much like Adia! So funny.
And your mom looks so much like Abbie to me. Epecially the one of her in the hospital.
It is crazy how familiar your dad looks to me, I think because I see you in him too.
I wanna see a pic of your grandma though.
Happy Birthday to you!

We also lived on Capitol Hill when we first moved to Seattle, years ago not even a block from Broadway Community College (was then called Edison Tech).
