A kind and thoughtful Secret Santa left a most surprising and special gift for me in our mailbox at church. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened it! Remember this book? The Little Fir Tree with illustrations by Barbara Cooney? I also mentioned it here.
I now have my very own copy! And I couldn't be happier!
So, whoever you are (and I think I have an idea.... she might be a dear friend who has a special place in her heart *and job...ahem* for children and childrens books herself. I'm not sure, just sayin...).... thank you so much! It was such a thoughtful gift - one that I will always remember and treasure for many Christmases to come.
Stay tuned until later this evening when I'll report on how Day 2 is going.

What a wonderful gift! I absolutely love that big, and I really want a copy of it myself. My boys would love it.
I can't wait to see how day 2 is going. You have inspired me, and I'm going to give the cleanse a go next week!
I have felt so icky since Caiden was born, and I seem to have a growing number of foods that haven't been agreeing with me. I think the cleanse will help me out a lot, and I want to be nice and healthy for my surgery in a couple of months.
Somehow, I always get long winded when I am replying to a post of yours. Thanks for sharing! All your blogs are wonderful!
I love that *book*!
Glad you like it! ~secret santa :-)
This is so fun!
We had this book checked out from the library for most of the Christmas season. The kids keep singing the songs that are written in it.
How is it that you have a mail box at church? That sounds fun too!
Rebecca - if only I played the piano and could figure out how the songs go. I need to find someone to play them for me.
And mailboxes.. I guess that's the blessing of going to a VERY small church. It is fun!
