Thanksgiving Meme

Courtesy of Quiet Life.

1. What are you thankful for?
  • My family. My husband, my children, my mom, my grandma, sisters-in-law, all of 'em.
  • The fact that God gave us things like art and crafts. I mean, he could have just let us knit hats solely for utilitarian purposes. But He clearly also values beauty and creativity. He made us creative and beautiful. He made us to make creative and beautiful things. I think that's cool.
2. What is your favorite thing to make?
3. Do you have a special tablecloth?
  • No. Because I haven't found quite the right one. I found a beautiful brown and white vintage tablecloth at the craft and antique fair this year. I should have bought it.
4. What is your favorite thing to eat?
  • Everything, but mixed together. I love a bite with a little stuffing, a little mashed potatoes, some turkey - all dipped in gravy.
5. What time do you eat?
  • I prefer to eat in the afternoon. Around 3 or so. But if we have it at my aunt's house (like this year) she likes to eat late. So my guess is we'll probably eat around 5 or 6. In my opinion, that's just way too much time to fill up on other stuff so that there's not as much room in your stomach for the real stuff.

I'm an afternoon eater, too--around 3 is perfect. My husband wanted to eat at 6, so I went low at 2, and we comprised on 3-4ish. (I'm sneaky like that.)

I'm on the look-out for a vintage autumn tablecloth, too. I have a couple of great Christmas tablecloths I've found at garage sales, but the autumn/Halloween/Thanksgiving themes have been elusive. I'll let you know if I find anything new but vintage-y.
