I just found out I have to make cranberry sauce for Justin's family's Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. I know it sounds crazy - but I've never made cranberry sauce before. I think because I don't really like cranberry sauce that much. I haven't tasted it in a few years though.
I looked on-line and found some recipes - pretty much just add sugar and water. Is this all? Or do you guys have some awesome cranberry sauce recipes that I absolutely must make? PW didn't even post a cranberry sauce recipe..... Odd, I thought.
Obviously, we're in short time here. Let me know what you think.
Martha? What about you? We're good to go with gravy, now dish it on the cranberries would ya?

Can't help you with the cranberries sauce...I don't care for it either. Just wanted to say HI and that I enjoyed coming across your blog..from coastal nest. I love staying at home as well..and all it entails...love to decorate and craft. Happy Thanksgiving. cherry
This is going to be completely un-helpful. But I buy the canned stuff. Doesn't get easier than that..haha..sorry, I'm not help.
We make it with sugar and water and cranberries from costco. We love it, it is a favorite around here.
I've never made it, either- but I checked a couple of the cooking blogs that I frequent and have help for you!

(She posts three recipes in that one link.)
Hope you find something that works and that is a HUGE hit! :)

HEY! Hit up Denise (on the forum) she makes it, says it is really easy and had a poll asking about a couple of variations she was thinking of doing.... worth a look!
I LOVE cranberry sauce--it's one of my favorite parts of the meal--so I have a few opinions to offer. Orange zest and a squeeze of fresh orange juice makes a huge difference. My in-laws make everything from scratch, but even they just open a can of whole cranberry sauce (not jellied) and add orange zest and juice. It's delicious. Whole Foods has good canned cranberries without HFCS and Trader Joe's has amazing Cranberry Orange sauce in plastic tubs in the refrigerated section if you want to make it easy on yourself.
I posted links to a bunch of the recipes I've used on the forum - but truthfully, yes - all it takes is water and sugar and cranberries, and it's still good.
...but I like to add stuff. This year I'm making the Apple-Orange cranberry sauce recipe from Williams Sonoma.
Oh Maaaan!
I'm so sorry I missed your plea, Cutz!
I like mine pretty plain, though, so you wouldn't have learned much from me :)
Hope P-dubs were yummy! I'll have to go and check out her recipe. I love her stuff.
