Oprah! Help!

I just got done filming a video to send in to Oprah. If I knew how to put video up here I would. Anyway... I'm getting desperate. I'm now on my 10th kitchen color try-out. I hesitated even writing about it since I feel so depressed. Seriously. I'm starting to wonder if I'm just a discontent person or if my kitchen is truly really hard to choose a paint color for. It didn't help that I told my grandma today that I'm on my 10th color and she said to me, "Well, you're awfully hard to please." I told her that's exactly why I didn't want to tell her about it in the first place.

I was on-line tonight researching paint colors which is a totally bad idea. No color is true on a computer monitor. (By the way, blue suppresses appetite. I'm seriously considering it) I went to Oprah's web site to see if cute, gay Nate might have any ideas and saw that she is asking for people stuck in the middle of a decorating project. That's me. Totally and completely stuck. Right now my kitchen is waiting to be finished with the grey puke I chose last night. Only the second color that I've completely painted my kitchen with and disliked. The 10th color to be on the wall.

Did I mention that while in the middle of this painting fiasco I realized something? All my appliances are different colors. The fridge is almond, the stove is white, the dishwasher is black. The cabinets are ugly 70's brown with the hardware directly in the middle of the doors. The countertops are white with gold flecks. And, to top it all off, I'm trying to find a color that will also look good in our hallway and kids' room. I really want like a lighter yellowy green that is warm and doesn't look like baby poo.

What I really need is for Oprah to just send a crew to re-do the whole darn thing. So I did it. Unrehearsed, no make-up, pleading, begging video.

It would be so appropriate for you to be on Oprah! I'd love it. I am sure you would end up sharing the gospel and tons would be saved! Sorry the grey didn't work. Is it our fault? Maybe you should go away for a weekend and have justin choose and do it without your knowledge. Maybe if you were not a part of the process, you would like the result better... if you don't have "nate" come do it for you that is.

oh, you are funny! for the past couple of years i've tossed the idea around of making a video for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. can you imagine how great *that* would be? and yet, i don't think i have the appropriate (read: no) sob story to offer viewers. i love the idea of you sending that video to oprah. keep us posted. i would love to come over and see your colors and help. :) i love colors and painting!

Hello there! I was directed to this post by the Ballouns because I've been through my own kitchen conundrum. Here's where I announce that I finally finished. And here's where I redo it again. I'll spare you the endless posts about refinishing the stupid cabinets... Good luck with your project! Wish I'd thought of asking Oprah for help!
