1. We're chick sitting for my friend Amy while they're in California. I forgot to tell you all that and am realizing I better take pictures soon since I don't exactly know when they're coming home. All the chicks are still alive...
2. Finney, our dog, was trying to catch a mole on Sunday and dug a humongo hole in the new beds along our front walkway. The hole actually went under the walkway concrete - no joke. I told Justin it almost would have been worth it if he had caught the mole. But he didn't...
3. I yelled at Steele today and I feel a bit bad about it. I was sitting on the toilet and he was sitting on the toilet and he obviously did not get his little you-know-what in the right position (I'm finding this is a challenge of not being circumcised) and he was peeing all over the floor. Since I couldn't move I yelled at him, "Scoot back! Scoot back! Scoot back!" He just stared at me blankly...
4. While looking in the bag of cookies I bought today at Trader Joe's I noted approximately four halves sitting there. Evidence of the sad reality that I have been unsuccessful at rationing myself and very successful at telling myself the lie that a half is not near as bad as a whole...
5. Don't start your vegetables inside. When you transplant them outside they just die...
6. I loved Apollo and Juliann's dance tonight...
7. How did that dread lock boy ever make it this far on American Idol???
8. I'm feeling a little down after taking a hard look at my Jazzercise books tonight. Hmph.
9. I had to be 'mean boss' today. That's always fun.
10. I'm going to bed now. Steele is in "Papa's spot" tonight. I always try and get him to sleep in our bed when Justin's working and he never wants to. Dang Babywise. But he was extra sweet today and even told me "good job Mama" when I found the cheddar cheese. Nothin' better than a warm little Steelio to snuggle with.

I am having a hard time even potty training Ryan. It stinks. Molly was soooo much easier. I love the kids in bed also... snuggles, but I hate the habit of it. Looking at our books last night was not fun either.
I am so glad I am not watching AI this season... I cant even stand to look at that pretty boy. Sigh.
We used to tease my grandma about her cookie halves. She would start out saying, "I'll just have half. Who wants the other half?" and if there were no takers, she'd polish off a whole plate of cookies, one half at a time. My grandma died when I was 16, and whenever I see half a cookie, I think of her.
Personally, I didn't know why Jason even made it to the Top 24, so I am dumbfounded that he's still around. It's because the only people who vote are 13-year-old girls.
Jack used to do the same thing! I'd ask him if he wanted to sleep in Mama's bed and he'd say no! He grew out of it though. Jason's out of town tonight and I can't wait for snuggles.
I WONDERED who was taking care of their chicks! I forgot to ask and I've been wondering all week! :)
I'm glad to hear they're being well cared for!

Let me know if we're invited over for "chick"en soup any time soon. Then I'll know if you've been sitting on the chicks - you did say "chick sitting", didn't you?
My remake of the popular Shel Silverstein poem "Mrs. McTwitter, the Babysitter":
Miss Cu-cutzi
The chick sitter,
We think she's a little bit ditsy!
She thinks that
the chick sitter is
supposed to sit upon the chickies!
p.s. I love my big mouth grand-daughter.
Everytime I see "Where The Sidewalk Ends" I think of your mom reading to us from it. I think my favorite poem she read is the one about the boy with his finger up his nose. Thank's Leslie for making such happy childhood memories :)
I love it when you call Steele "Steelio" too cute!
Our books aren't so good, either.
Miss you!
