I Know, I Know

Two posts in one day. But I really just had to write and say that there is absolutely no reason I should go about looking anything but absolutely adorable when there are stores like this out there. Why have I never heard about this before?! ?! I NEED cute clothes. The more children I have the cuter my clothes need to be. I just don't have time to decide if things are cute or not. They just need to be. That's what I decided. I cannot waste my time worrying about the cute-ness of them or spending more than 5 minutes considering the cuteness factor - that would be too shallow. I just need to buy things that are innately cute. Granted, being 15 lbs lighter would probably make all my clothes look even cuter but that's beside the point.

I found it by looking at this blog which I am so intrigued by. Reading it sometimes makes me want to change every piece of decor in my house. But that just sounds like too much work. The problem is that I don't really know what my style is. Sometimes it's dark leather couches, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn and the likes. And sometimes, more often lately, it's more Cath Kidston (who I just found and I love but can't figure out if it would even be worth it for me to order anything from the UK) Anyhow, I'm starting to embarrass myself by writing about all of this - but I was thinking about it.

Shallow post for the day? Check.

And by the way, if you were wondering... new underwear? Check.

So this may or may not make you feel better - IMHO Forever 21 isn't as cute in person as their website seems it is. I've been in there a few times (ah I miss the shopping of the Bay Area) but was always disappointed by the quality of the fabric and the sizing (which is jr style and I've always been curvy).

As far as decor - I'm all over the map. It's more fun that way. We've been shopping for furniture for our house and it's seriously totally random.

And underwear! I bought those same ones a week ago in size 7. Sadly, I think size 8 would be more comfy for the long haul. Not quite sure what to do with them...

Hey.....
Sometimes? I like the shallow posts the best.
Because I'm shallow.
Argh! But I know what you mean about the whole Posy/Restoration Hardware conundrum. Love that look of the white painted furniture and the breezy, bright colors! But that would never work in mi casa.
Makes me want to paint my woodwork white. Which is SUCH a great idea when I can't finish the other projects I start :)

Michele -
So what size is the 7? M or L? I just broke down and got the Large. I realized that even though my brassiere size is something crazy like 32 or 34.... I have a LARGE bum. Curvy? I agree! And they are so comfortable! And I am SO happy about that - because I also don't have time to go around finding comfy underwear and that is just a necessity. But the great thing about Costco? You can return 'em! Gotta love it.

I just got the new Cath Kidston Christmas catalog- it's all SO cute. Someday, probably when we move to a different house, I'm going to place a big old fatty order there. Definitely not worth the shipping if you're just buying a couple items. And even though I'd love to just place a big order now and redecorate, my house is already decorated and I'm not going to drop a load of cash just because I'm bored. (That's what I have to keep telling myself.)

I agree with Michelle on two points. #1- I'm SUCH a fan of combining different styles. Some may call it random, I call it Jodi. And I love that. #2- I went into Forever 21 with my sister, and I would not say that quality clothing is their claim to fame. However, I did find a super cute hoodie that I love. And a word of warning: they have a horrible return policy.

I've been thinking about a song choice for you....and I'll have to keep thinking. The one thought I had was just a classic hymn of thanksgiving. Possibly putting your own contemporary flavor to it (in a very American Idol kind of way), and possibly a lesser known one. I like this idea because hymn lyrics are ALWAYS such a blessing to me, and because the music is so simple that it would really spotlight your AMAZINGLY gorgeous voice. Just a thought.

And for what it's worth, I LOVE your random posts.

Okay I'm so glad you posted an update on the underwear. I have wondered more than once if you settled that issue or not. ~Whew~. But wait, do they have hipsters or just bikinis? I usually get my underwear there, and I never am quite sure about the size, either. Funny. Clearly it should be more obvious on the package.

Now, about the style you like, I have decided this past year that I like cottage-style things. Period. I told Mark, "Don't ever let me buy anything for this house that is not cottagey." We'll see. [Not that we buy much for the house anyway, but...]

I love Cath Kidson's stuff, too. And Jodi? A CATALOG? I am so going online to find out how to get me one of those!

About the underwear - I got the bikini style in a size L. And the sizing information is on the end - but I never quite understand underwear sizing anyway. They should do it according to pant size. I wear an 8 or 10 pant - now why do I wear a 7 underwear? Beyond me. But I seriously was so happy to find them - really. I needed new underwear badly and there are just so many underwear issues one can have.

And Cath Kidston catalogs? I have TWO!! I drool over them peridodically. And, I'll let you all in on a little secret (or not so little) - they're developing a US web site. I'm guessing with shipping from the US. So I'm waiting...

And Martha - after reading your blog I am slowly gaining the courage to paint my ugly brown cabinets white. It's ok to have a cottage kitchen and RH-ish living room right? Not to mention my dining room which is in between the two - both physically and decoratively.

I just realized I left 2 (now 3) comments on my own post. I could have just written a whole separate update post. Oh man I make myself laugh.

Cutzi,

I got my painting directions at thisoldhouse.com. They were really good directions.

Ooooo! Show us a picture of your dining room!

And, you know what? You could totally do a Kath Kidson kitchen, don't you think? It can be your cheery little girly place!!

The large is the size 7. While I am a huge fan of Costco's return policy, I'm not sure I can go back to them and return a pack of underwear with one missing. You don't think they'd want the used ones back, do you?

Well, I'm not sure what you should do with the used pair but when I was looking at them I was talking to a girl I know who works there (I used to do the flowers at Costco) and we were discussing the underwear. I asked her if she'd tried them yada, yada, yada. I wasn't sure was size to get....and she was like, "Well, if they don't fit just bring 'em back." I say go for it.
