She's here! She's here! She's here!

Xochi Mariellen was born at 5:55 pm on June 3rd.

7 lbs 9 oz, 19.5 inches

Can you even believe it!!?????

I can hardly believe she is here!

Everyone is doing well. Xochi is healthy and strong and so, so sweet.

She has the daintiest little features and LOTS of dark hair, as you'll see in the pictures.

Amanda rocked it out. Things were going so slow this morning. Then doc broke her water at noon and Xochi was born 6 hours later. Amanda only pushed for like 10 minutes.

I'm exhausted and need to go look for a plane ticket home for TOMORROW NIGHT! Freaky! But the pediatrician at the hospital said we'll be fine.

So without further adieu....

Xochi and mama - both with double chins. Lovely.

8 and 9 apgar scores (is that how you spell it?)

Words cannot express how much your prayers, encouragement and excitment has meant to me over the last few days.

Doc Broke Water

12 Noon. Doc broke water. I went for lunch, some nice stranger at a coffee shop let me use her computer. Can't be long now!

Pray it goes fast from here!

She's in Labor...

Amanda was admitted to the hospital last night at 11:30. Unfortunately, Cutzi didn't find out until 6:45 this morning. She left her celly in Amanda's mom's car last night. She literally had to run the almost one mile to the hospital. And now we wait for her arrival.

P.S. This is my first blog post ever.

Not yet...

But maybe soon. And if not soon - then tomorrow morning for sure.

So we went to the doctor this morning and even after they told her yesterday morning that they would induce her today - they didn't. When they called over to the hospital the doctor said that it was too late of a start to do it this morning. They made an appointment for her at 7:30 tomorrow and sent her over to the hospital for a stress test since Xochi hasn't been moving very much. They said if she was stressed they would induce her then and there. But she's healthy and moving fine. Which is awesome, of course.

We were all a little deflated at that point. I think Amanda, her mom and I all felt like crying but none of us did. And none of us told eachother we wanted to until later. Well... Amanda said she did in the exam room to try and get them to induce her but it didn't work.

Poor Amanda. She is totally done. I feel bad for her. And to top it all off, tomorrow is also her birthday.

We decided to take matters into our own hands a little bit. We went for lunch at this place called Diego's. It was seriously the best food I may have ever had in my life. Then we went and bought a bottle of castor oil which she promptly downed. And then we set out walking.... (and shopping)

After that I came back to the hotel, took a nap and am now waiting to hear if anything more is happening.
Amanda thinks it will be tonight.
I hope so!

No Room

Well, I won't delay any news with stories... still no Xochi.

There wasn't any room at the hospital yesterday so we're going to try again today.

I told Amanda she needed to go into labor last night just to show 'em what for but nothin'. I slept in my bed at my hotel all night long.

I wish I had time to tell you all the funny, wonderful, nerve-wracking stories from the trip down but I just don't. Amanda and her mother with be here to pick me up soon and then we're off for a doctor's appointment at 10:30.

I probably don't really need to ask you all this but....

PRAY!!

Pray that there's room, pray it all goes quickly.

I'm doing fine but I think if I have to stay any more than a couple more days I'm going to start missing my little family. A LOT.

Steele and Adia are doing fine at Grammy and Grumpa's house - having a blast.

I feel like I'm just rambling on whatever comes to mind.

I'm doing fine. Really. It's just kind of weird. Not like a vacation, but not really here for anything yet. So it's like I just decided to fly down to California and stay in a hotel room for the night.

I got a phone call, literally just as I was getting on the plane, from Amanda's mom saying they weren't going to induce her yesterday and I just thought to myself, "Well, Lord. You know that I'm going down today. You knew this wasn't going to happen today. So it's all fine. I'm right where I should be, right when I should be." So thankful for that assurance.

Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. It truly means so much to me. I am so excited every time I read a new comment on my blog or facebook. It helps to know I have the troops behind me!

I hope to bring you some sweeter news soon!
