In general, I am not a baby gadget or gear person. At times, though, I have found a few things that work well and make life easier. And sometimes, I realize that I need some gear that I don't have.
A few days ago as I was putting Steele in his car seat I noticed how much the seat base was pushing on our upholstery. I wondered to myself if I should put something underneath it to protect the seat from ripping. And sure enough, today - as I was putting him in, I found that it had indeed ripped. Ugh. I've been on-line today looking for seat protectors and there are bazillions out there - spanning a huge range of prices. I didn't know where to begin. So where do I go when I need some advice? To my bloggy peeps!
Any ideas? Experiences? Reviews? Good or bad. I'm not as concerned with protecting the seat from spills etc. as I am about it not pulling on the upholstery - although stain prevention will be a bonus.
As I was searching I found this. Heh heh. I love the name of it. Adia's been potty trained for several months now but she still has accidents every once in a while. And generally, it seems to happen in the car when we can't stop fast enough or if she falls asleep. Taking this out and washing it seems much easier than taking the whole car seat out and apart. I might just have to get one. I wonder if they make them for granny's too?

We just have the Eddie Bauer one from Target. It's not really the kind of thing to get too excited about but it works great. It's plenty wide and has mesh pockets in the front (which we've never used!).
We have leather seats and I was worried about the exact same thing. You know what we use that is free? A folded up towel to protect the vehicle seat from the rubbing of the car seat. It works perfect and is FREE!~
I think if it was a concern I'd just use a towel...they really thick and cheap and easy to wash.
I do like the pee pad idea. Our car seat came with one and it's come in handy a few times.

Those are the pads we have under the car seats. We love them. And I love that piddle pad!! If only I'd known about them years ago!!
