Look What I Did!
I love to get projects finished - although sometimes I feel like it rarely happens in this house. But I finished one the other day and I'm really happy with the way it turned out - except for the fact that I wish I had used glossy paint for it - but I didn't have any. I might paint over it with a gloss. I've been meaning to do something like this since we moved into this house three years ago. Next up on the list? Baskets that fit the holes in the bench. I'm thinking of going with galvanized from Ikea.
Oops... I just realized I didn't say what in the world I did. I painted these little circles....

Hey, what's that on the bench? See it? Right there next to the basket?

Hey!! That's Jodi's prize! Three of my very favorite things!
I've been using Mrs. Meyer's stuff for a while now but they just came out with this new scent - Basil! And it is so yummy. I do have to admit, though, that while it's such a great scent - the hand soap is a little strong. But it smells so good. I was using the lavender (which is mixed with tangerine) and loved it and now have the dish and hand soap in basil. Only the latest and greatest will do for MY blog readers though - so I got Jodi the basil too. They also have a new baby line that I'm going to try. I should mention here (for any of the rest of you that might be interested) that I've found it at Fred Meyer for comparable prices to the web site.
The other little tub is Tangerine Sugar Scrub from Trader Joe's. It is so reasonably priced and I love it! I keep it in the shower and use it to shave with. Scrub it on, rinse and then shave with the good smelling oil it leaves on your skin. Helps to get a clean shave and prevent ingrown hairs. Amy also told me the other day that she ex foliates the skin on her arms. I had never even thought of that! My arms get kind of bumpy from the sun in the summer - so I've been using this and my arms are looking BEE-YOU-TIFUL. If I do say so myself.
So there you have it - I know you've had to wait a long time to find out about this prize. I hope you love it all as much as I do Jodi!
In some other blips of family news:

Have a great weekend everyone!

In some other blips of family news:
- Adia is showing interest in potty training so I got her some big girl underwear and she's gone a couple times. I am SO excited about the prospect of this!
- We have made some major headway in the "getting along with each other" area. I don't mean Justin and I..... Steele and Adia. I'm beginning to see some fruit from my training and also just the result of both of them getting older and maturing a bit. Yesterday Steele happily helped Adia take off her shoes and then ran into the living room yelling, "Let's go play cars and trucks Dee Dee!" This is BIG for us people! This is opposed to the, "No, no - you get away from my cars and trucks Dee Dee" that we've been experiencing for months.
- Steele is going to be a ring bearer in a wedding this weekend. He's been going around the house, claws bared, saying, "I'm the ring bear. GRRRRRRR." Today I'm sewing a bow tie for him to wear with this cutie little outfit.

- I'm also incredibly relieved to tell you that I worked out pain free last night. I still have a chiropractor appointment next week but I was so happy to be able to sweat! Phew!

Boredom Blog
We spent all day at the beach and had such a wonderful time.
But now I'm POOPED! Like the kind of pooped where you were out in the sun all day long.
Justin had to work today so I'm kind of bored too. I think I'll go to bed after this.
A list of things I've considered doing but am too tired to do:
1. Download (or is it upload? I'm too tired to figure it out...) pictures from today
2. Take pictures of Jodi's prize and post them
3. Put the laundry in the dryer
4. Post creative comments on everyone's blogs. I only made it over to Martha's.... and even then I posted kind of dumb comments.
5. Get out of this recliner and actually go to bed
6. Eat some dinner besides the leftover cinnamon rolls I made for brunch today
7. Brush my teeth
The one thing I tried to do but couldn't since this dumb sciatica is giving me problems:
1. My interval training
I'm really happy with how I've been doing so far. I've been doing my intervals according to Fit Yummy Mummy for almost four weeks now. Tonight would have been my final workout of week 4 - which would have meant that I could move on from the intermediate workouts. But I have this dang pinched nerve in my rear! I got on the treadmill and actually started but it was just too painful. I'll try again tomorrow. I've lost about 5 lbs though and I jokingly told Justin that I think I dropped a pant size - 'cause now I actually fit into the jeans I've been wearing all along. I told you! I was a total muffin!

A Bit of a Delay
Thank you!!
Thank you so much for posting all those comments! It was so much fun - and I even got to meet a couple new readers which was the most fun for me. Some I didn't know at all, some who know me in a round about way and some who I thought I didn't know but I actually do. (Rebecca! of Bob and Rebecca. I totally know you - I just didn't know you were that Rebecca. Sorry!) And Bekah - you've really got me curious... I'd love to know who the friends of friends of friends are. You never know, I might know you too!
Anyway, back to the matter at hand. We're experiencing a bit of a delay. I didn't want to post the results of the drawing until I could post a picture of the prize. But - I just got back from the store where I was going to pick it up and they were all out!! Can you believe it?? There's another store I can go to but I won't have time until tomorrow - so you'll have to wait until then to find out what you get. But for now.... we have a winner!!
I contacted the law offices of Steeleson, Steelio and Steeleburger early this morning. They conducted a very technical, very official drawing using the latest blog-drawing technology.
First, they painstakingly documented each person that had posted a comment.

Then, they separated each name individually using an anonymous East Indian laborer.

Next, each piece of paper was folded employing an ancient Chinese origami technique.

They were carefully measured to insure the exact volume of entries was maintained.

The head of finance and resource expenditures insisted on drawing the name himself.

He doesn't usually waste his time on such trivial matters. He was, after all, in the middle of a meeting with Mr. F. Rogers, Bob Dog and King Friday.

He finally chose the winning name....

And then threw it back in the bowl.
I've contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding this little snafu. They shared with me that they've have had some complaints recently involving Steeleson, Steelio and Steeleburger. Something about the high-up corporate mucky mucks not training their top men thoroughly. Blah, blah, blah... I've heard it all before. You'd think we were dealing with toddlers or something.
So he drew another one....

And the winner is......

Can You Show a Girl Some Love?
Ok friends... so I get about 50 hits a day to this snappy little blog I have. And you know how many comments I get? Maybe 2....or 3. On average. Now, I don't necessarily think you have to post a comment every time you read my blog - sometimes you just don't have anything to say. But if you read regularly would you at least say "hi" and let me know who you are? I know who some of you are - I've seen you at Costco and you've told me sheepishly that you read my blog. I love that! Some of you have told me that everybody else posts comments and you don't need to re-say what somebody else has already said. I've checked my site meter and seen that you live in Kennewick - I only know one person from Kennewick. Congratulations and I hope you're getting some sleep!
Ok - to make it fun you can ask me all the burning questions you've been dying to know. HA! I flatter myself. Seriously though, you might have questions - if they're not too personal I'll answer them. And also, if you've gotten this far and you post a comment I'll enter your name into a drawing. Did I say drawing?? I don't do drawings. But I will. As a blatant attempt to get your comments. And also because it was my blogaversary on June 1st. The prize will be a surprise - but I promise it will be good. As soon as I think of it.
So post up!
Oh! I better put a deadline on this. How about tomorrow at 10:23 pm PST?
And I think I need to limit it to American commenters. Sorry Will! International shipping might get expensive!
